Chocolate Chip & Co. is bringing the funky heat this Friday night at the Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series. Be prepared to dance the night away on Friday, August 2, at 6pm with the infectious groove of Chip and his crew. The Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series offers FREE entertainment to Statesville’s residents, neighbors, and visitors in Downtown Statesville from May through October and features music of all styles. The series is also made possible by the presenting sponsorship of Flow Automotive of Statesville. Whether you like the sound of decades past, Country, Blues or Rock and Roll, you’ll hear something you will enjoy dancing and singing along to! The concerts are held in Downtown Statesville on West Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College from 6 – 8:30 pm. Beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks, water, and food will be available for purchase beginning at 5pm. Bring your chairs and enjoy a great night of music, but remember no pets, outside beverages, or coolers are allowed. In addition to the concert, the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 5 th Annual Kids Biz Expo, sponsored by Bobcat on the lawn of the Broad Street Methodist Church. The Kids Biz Expo is designed for school age children from Kindergarten through High School and offers them the opportunity to set up a booth/table with a product they feel passionate about. This year they have 24 talented, dedicated kids who have created crafts, jewelry, baked goods, beverages, crafts and other great products to sell. The public is encouraged to attend and support these young future entrepreneurs, artists and business developers. Each Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 concert supports a non-profit organization, offering them a booth to share information about their program and collecting donations on their behalf. We are excited to announce that this month's event will be dedicated to benefiting Pharos Parenting. Pharos Parenting, formerly SCAN of Iredell, has been providing parent education and resources since 1987. Services include classes, in-home Parent Aide, coaching, workshops, supervised visitation, & more! Most services are offered at no cost. They believe every child deserves a safe and stable home life and an opportunity for a bright future.
